A new Brisbane record fair is set to make waves this November, hosted by Glitter Records in Fortitude Valley’s California Lane. The CD and Record Market kicks off on Saturday, November 22, running from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Entry is free.

Importantly, the fair is part of the “100 Years 100 Stories” celebration of the Carroll’s and Rollinson buildings. Visitors can enjoy vinyl DJ sets from “dj marty” (Catalog Music) and and DJ Bobby Love. Artist David Hinchcliffe will paint live. Local historian Robert Allen will lead walking tours every hour.

What to Expect

The CD and Record Market is an exciting new addition to the Brisbane record fair calendar. Thousands of vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes, and rare formats will be on display. Vendors include Echo and Bounce, Beat Market, and Vinyl Thread, with more to be announced in the lead-up to the event.

Evening Events

Meanwhile, music will continue to flow through California Lane into the evening, with 1960s–70s rock at Lang’s Lounge from 2:00 to 6:00pm, RnB and 2000s hits at First Edition from 6:00 to 9:00pm, and jazz funk and house at Nok Nok from 7:30 to 11:30pm.

Additionally, a swing dancing session and an animated film screening will accompany the music program.
