Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker has made a guest appearance on The Weeknd‘s fourth studio album After Hours.

Parker’s exact contributions are unclear.

Formally he is credited as mastering the record, though as many avid listeners have pointed out he also appears on the album’s 12th track ‘Repeat After Me (Interlude)‘.

In addition to containing some suspiciously Tame Impala sounding synth work, the song also features Parker singing during its introduction.

This isn’t the first time the pair have worked together.

Both Parker and Abel Makkonen featured on rapper Travis Scott‘s 2018 song ‘SKELETONS’.

Parker is not the only cook in the kitchen for ‘Repeat After Me (Interlude)’ either.

The Weeknd’s new track also features contributions from US producers and electronic wizard Oneothrix Point Never.

‘Repeat After Me (Interlude)’ is Parker’s first collaboration following the release of Tame Impala’s fourth album The Slow Rush.

Previously Parker has worked with the likes of Kanye West, Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga, Zhu and Kali Ulchis.

Kevin has shared that while they may not always come off, he finds collaborations less challenging than creating his own material in Tame Impala.

It’s way easier because you’re sharing the responsibility, the burden,” he shared with GQ earlier this year.

Talking with Billboard in January, Parker also revealed he was entertaining offers to record with both The Arctic Monkeys and Dua Lipa.

I’ve only scratched the surface with [collaborating],” he shared.

Parker has expressed in past that Daft Punk currently sit at the top of his list of dream collaborations, thought his manager also pointed out to Billboard his secret ambition is to work with Beyoncé
