King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard‘s  Fishing For Fishies and Infest The Rats’ Nest has been nominated for the Australian Music Prize.

What’s more, both of King Gizzard‘s albums have now made the award’s final ‘shortlist’ of 107 long-players still in the running to take out its $30,000 prize.

The music prize is an annual award given to an Australian band or solo artist in recognition of the merit of an album released that year.

Its main object of the award is to celebrate excellence in Australian music.

The decision arrives via a panel of 40 music industry judges.

This recent announcement informs those following their favorite bands’ progress that these judges have listened to all 454 eligible albums submitted and narrowed them down to the aforementioned 107.

The final decision will be announced in March.

In addition to King Gizzard, Tame Impala affiliates POND have also made the list.
