Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker will appear in new Mark Ronson‘s Love Lockdown.

Both a mixtape and livestream event, Love Lockdown will kick-off 3pm PST today.

Parker will be joined by an eclectic array of other acts ranging from Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates, Discolorue, Lykke Li, Mallrat, and pop sensation Dua Lipa

Since first meeting one another at an Australian music festival in 2011, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and super-producer Mark Ronson have been close friends.

Kevin Parker is credited as a bassist, drummer, composer, guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist on Ronson’s 2015 album Uptown Special and also contributed guitar, production, synths and backing vocals to 2019’s Late Night Feelings.

Mark Ronson was a big producer mentor for me,” Parker shared of the pair’s friendship with Billboard in 2018. “He was the first one that convinced me that I could take it seriously, or that what I had was special. Up until then, I figured I wouldn’t really know how to incorporate what I do with other artists, especially ones I don’t know personally. I think he was pretty pivotal in that.”

Ronson returned the favor late last year, being was one of the first to openly praise Kevin Parker’s fourth album The Slow Rush prior to its February 14 2020 release.

But more importantly his new album blew my mind,” Ronson wrote via his Instagram account.

Ronson is best known for his 11 times platinum 2014 single ‘Uptown Funk’ and work as co-producer on Amy Winehouse‘s cult album Back To Black.

Thew news follows Parker’s appearance at Australian livestream event Music From The Home Front last Saturday where he performed an acoustic rendition of recently released Slow Rush composition ‘On Track‘.

Love Lockdown will also take place concurrently with another event Parker will be appearing at, NTS radio’s 24-hour livestream event Remote Utopias will kick off 10am BST.
