A new study by the Institue of Contemporary Music Performance has revealed that King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are one of the world’s hardest-working touring acts.

Basing their findings on the number of shows artists had performed and the number of countries they had traveled to between January 2018 to August 2019, the study ranked King Gizzard at #21.

During the period of time, Gizzard were reported to have given 22 performances domestically and 91 internationally.

This totaled 113 overall.

ICMP also noted that the band had travelled to less than 22 countries.

Gizzard’s efforts placed them above emo outfit Panic! At The Disco who ranked #22 but just behind body-positive superstar Lizzo who landed herself a place at #20.

To their credit Gizz was also the highest-ranking Australian band, coming in five places ahead of boy band 5 Seconds of Summer who hit in at #26.

#3, #2, and #1 went to P!nk, Billie Elish and Lewis Capaldi respectively.

It’s been a busy year for Gizzard who, while falling short of releasing 5 consecutive albums as they did in 2017, released 14th and 15th albums Fishing For Fishies and Infest The Rats’ Nest.

You can run your eyes across the full details here.
