“We’ve learned to assess Tame Impala more on the strength of their albums than singles,” writes Augustus Welby of Australian publication Beat Magazine.

“So three tracks into the post-Currents cycle,” they continue to reflect in the publication’s roundup of recently released singles, “and onto the second official single from LP number four – we’re fighting the urge to deem the new material a bit a lacklustre, a bit directionless.”

While struggling to muster enthusiasm, the writer still has a few positive words to give The Slow Rush‘s leading single. 

“‘It Might Be Time’ does bang hard, for what’s it’s worth,” Welby adds. “Parker’s production is reliably lively as the song recalls acid house-inspired big beat à la The Chemical Brothers.”

The Slow Rush Will be arriving February 14.
