If you’re going to be compared to somebody,” Greta Van Fleet’s Drummer Danny’s Wagner shares ina  new interview with Drum magazine, “Led Zeppelin is as good as any.”

I’m a huge Zeppelin fan,” he continues, “and so are the other guys, so perhaps that’s our foundation.”

As are the Beatles whose Ringo Starr, alongside Led Zeppelin’s John Bohman, Wagner rates as one of the largest influences upon his own work as a percussionist.

They’re my two biggest guys,” he enthuses. “With Bonham, it was the way he could distill so many styles and make them sound straightforward. Even when he did something complex, it still felt simple.”

As for Ringo,” he reflects, “he was just so creative and unique. Maybe it’s because he’s a lefty who played with his kit set up for a right-handed drummer. He came at his fills his own way.”
