The death of a loved one is a hollowing experience,” Yoko Ono shared via Twitter on the 39th anniversary of John Lennon’s death.

After 39 years,” she continues, “Sean, Julian and I still miss him. Imagine all the people living life in peace.”

Accompanying her words is an image of John Lennon’s bloodstained glasses, which Ono kept after Lennon’s death.

Above them sits a message stating the 1,400,000 North American citizens have been shot dead since the former Beatle‘s life was taken by a lone gunman in 1980 on December 8, 1980.

It is always good to cry,” she adds in a follow-up Tweet. “Tears gives you immense health.”

Alongside his mother, Sean also paid respect to John Lennon, posting a photo via his Instagram account.

Sean’s half brother Julian followed suit, posting an image of himself with his father with a caption simply stating “another lifetime”.
