Pedro Winter and Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker have been hanging out.

Winter, manager of Daft Punk from 1996 to 2008, currently runs French label Ed Banger Records, current home of influential electronic act Justice.

Earlier this week Winter posted a photo of him and Parker to the Ed Banger Instagram account.

Sharing our love for flannel shirts,” he writes, “talking about music, John BonhamPharrell Williams and Tame Impala’s forthcoming album Slow Rush.”

Already hottest of 2020!” he then adds.

It is unclear if Winter, like another friend of Parker’s Mark Ronson, has heard the record in its entirety or if he was simply discussing what he’s heard so far with Parker but the real question many fans are drawing out of the pair’s meeting is this:

Who Parker shared with Billboard in 2016 are #1 on his wish list of artists he would love to collaborate with.

Parker has also shared that the French duo are a seminal musical influence, it was their modern take on disco which pointed the way to his acclaimed third album Currents.

The Tame Impala mastermind also remixed ‘End of Line‘ from Daft Punk’s Tron soundtrack in 2011.

Given the biggest hit from Daft Punk’s 2013 album Random Access Memories, after ‘Get Lucky’, was ‘Instant Crush’ (featuring The Strokes‘ Julian Casablancas) it would make sense for the duo might be eyeing off another rock act to collaborate with…
