Tame Impala and several other acts have been announced to headline Australian livestream concert Music From The Home Front.

Coinciding with Australian national holiday Anzac Day on Saturday April 25, Music From The Home Front will pay tribute to Australian soldiers and COVID-19 frontline workers.

Music From The Home Front will kick off at 7.30 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time and alongside Tame Impala (billed as Kevin Parker) feature well known Australian acts including Ben Lee, Birds of Tokyo with West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Courtney Barnett, Dave Dobbyn, Delta Goodrem, G Flip, Ian Moss, Jimmy Barnes, Marlon Williams, Missy Higgins, Paul Kelly, The Rubens, The Wiggles, Vance Joy, Vika & Linda Bull.

The concert will be broadcast on Australia’s Channel 9.

Throughout history music has helped people through times of hardship,” shares the event’s promoter and Australian media personality Micheal Gudinski shares of the event. “Music From The Home Front is about uniting Australian and New Zealanders through the power of music in a time that we all need a bit of hope and happiness.”

On an Anzac Day like no other,” a statement accompanying the event’s lineup reads, “the Australian and New Zealand music community will join together to pay its respects and celebrate the mateship between two great neighbouring nations. While recognising and acknowledging the Anzac message, we also turn our attention to those that are currently fighting on the COVID-19 front line and say, ‘thank you’. Music From The Home Front sees Australian and New Zealand musicians uniting for an extraordinary special concert event on Anzac Day evening, screening on Nine in Australia and Three in New Zealand. Live streaming direct from their safe locations to yours, Australia and New Zealand’s most revered artists will come together to commemorate the spirit that binds us all together on this special Saturday night.”

Kevin Parker and his band had initially been scheduled to tour their home country for the first time since appearing At Splendor In The Grass Festival in 2019 this April.

The tour has now been postponed until December.
