Former Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher has recommended fans self-isolating due to the coronavirus listen to George Harrison‘s ‘All Things Must Pass‘.

Listen to George Harrison’s ‘All Things Must Pass’,” Gallagher writes via Twitter, “it’s BIBLICAL.”

(Despite Liam’s enthusiasm, Harrison himself was not a fan of Gallagher’s work. “The music lacks depth and the singer Liam is a pain,” the Quiet Beatle shared of Liam before his passing in 2001, “the rest of the band don’t need him.“)

Queen guitarist  Brian May has also echoed Gallagher’s sentiment.

All Things Must Pass. ALL,” May writes via Instagram. “The earth. The coronavirus. The human race. George Harrison – here after the Beatles had passed – says it all.”

(May would only Harrison once during the Beatle’s lifetime, crossing paths backstage at the Water Rats Charity Ball in 1992.)

The song originally appeared on George Harrison’s post-Beatles debut also titled All Things Must Pass.

Parts of the song originally believed to have been written while Harrison was visiting Bob Dylan in Woodstock toward the close of the 1960s.

Upon its release in 1970, the song was adopted by many Beatles fans as an unofficial anthem of the Fab Four’s breakup.

(The album, which turns 50 this November, was recently confirmed by Harrison’s son Dhani and Wife Olivia to be receiving a re-issue later this year.)

When I wrote ‘All Things Must Pass‘,” George Harrison shared in book I Me Mine, “I was trying to do a Robbie Robertson-Band sort of tune and that was what it turned into.”

I think the whole idea of ‘All Things Must Pass’,” he continued, “has been written up by all kinds of mystics and ex-mystics including Timothy learn his psychedelic poems.”

In light recent events, its lyrics ring oddly prescient.

And, with the endorsement of two of the UK’s premier rock personalities, it seems the song may be on track to becoming an unofficial COVID-19 survival anthem.
