Sophie Lawrence Parker Shares Rare Photos Of Tame Impala Wedding

Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker and partner Sophie Lawrence married in February last year.
The ceremony was a private affair at a Western Australian winery, attended by the couple’s friends, family and Parker’s bandmates.
It was also a media-free zone.
Meaning that past knowing that the reception ran late and that a large order of 150 McDonald’s cheeseburgers was placed, little was known of the event.
Less than a week out from Tame Impala’s fourth album The Slow Rush, Lawrence has shared several images of her and Parker’s wedding via her personal Instagram account.
The professional photos depict the Perth couple alongside members of POND and Tame Impala.
“One year down of a whole lifetime of you being my husband and me being your wife,” Lawrence writes, “Forever is defs not enough tho.”
Parker’s wedding served as one of the several lyrical and thematic inspirations for his long-awaited follow up to 2015’s Currents.
A wedding also features as the setting for Tame Impala‘s latest film clip ‘Lost In Yesterday’, which is quickly proving itself to be the most popular single from of the new record having racked up now less than 13 million streams of Spotify within four weeks of its release.
New follows Tame Impala’s official announcement of two Slow Rush listening parties, one in Parker’s home city of Perth and second in New York City.
“We’ve been close for a long time,” Parker shared of his relationship with both Lawrence and Perth in an interview with Clash Magazine, “and we’re still really close. Going back to Perth is like re-centering. But it can also be difficult. It’s kind of weird going out to our favorite music venue for the first time, seeing all our friends, because everyone’s lives have moved on a little bit. You go back, you find out who’s got married, who’s moved on. Sometimes it can feel like we’re the ones being left behind.”
