Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has canceled his upcoming March and April appearances.

The events, where Gilmour was set to debut new song ‘Yes, I Have Ghosts’, have now been postponed until September.

Sadly, we’ve had to postpone our A Theatre For Dreamers live events,” David Gilmour writes via his official Instagram account. “But the new dates are confirmed.”

At age 74 David Gilmour sits within one of the age brackets most susceptible to the virus.

We know it’s the right thing to do,” Gilmour’s partner, author, and occasional Pink Floyd lyricist Polly Sampson adds via her own account.

Thank you for being so understanding,” she shares in a second post. “I can’t wait for September, we’ll be so well-rehearsed by then!

Gilmour has also posted a new trailer for A Theatre For Dreamers launch.

In it, Sampson discusses her novel of the same title while accompanied by flamenco-style acoustic guitar work.

(It may not take too much of guess as to who has provided it.)

Of the book itself, publisher Bloomsbury describes A Theatre for Dreamers as, “a spellbinding novel about utopian dreams and innocence lost – and the wars waged between men and women on the battlegrounds of genius.”

Set in the 1960s it chronicles the lives of a circle of poets, painters, and musicians living on the Greek Island of Hydra.

The serene setting unravels as writer Axel Jensen, wife Marianne Ihlen, and a young Canadian poet named Leonard Cohen find themselves ensnared in a tangled love triangle.

While Gilmour has currently expressed that he has no immediate plans for Pink Floyd has shared that there is a trove of archival material that is being considered for future release.

There’s a whole archive there of new material, unreleased material and material that has got to written in future,” he shared late last year. “You haven’t heard the last of it.”
