Wild Parties At Pink Floyd Drummer Nick Mason’s Apartments Have Rankled Neighbours

An ongoing succession of wild parties at a number of rental properties owned by Nick Mason in the London suburb of Kings Cross has left the neighbors of the Pink Floyd drummer ticked off.

Reportedly driving neighbors “up the wall”, hundreds have been attending unruly nights on at Drum Court apartments in Gifford Street Kings Cross.

Mason himself has not been present for the revelry, as the apartments are in fact rented out on a short term basis via accommodation firm Sonder.

Several times security guards acting on behalf of the company have attempted to put an end to the events, which sometimes last until 8 am, but have in turn had to call in the police to quell the revelry.

Locals are furious.

Something is going seriously wrong,” one resident, Ian Gould shares with UK paper The Islington Gazette. “On four or five occasions now the property is taken over by a massive group of rowdy party goers who descend on a quiet residential street and cause mayhem.”

The perpetrators obviously know how to get around the Sonder system so keep coming back,” he continues. “The worst episode ended in absolute mayhem all night as a gang war erupted and cars were racing up and down the street.”

An avid racing enthusiast himself, the Pink Floyd‘s percussionist may not have found this element of the partying as objectionable.

Gould claims to have been in touch with Sonder and representatives of Nick Mason but belives nothing is being done.

Another nearby resident, Paul Convery, believes Mason ought to be called to account.

Once upon a time it was one of Nick Mason’s vintage motorcycle collection storage warehouses,” Gould shares. “He’s not made quite as much money out of these premises as he did with Pink Floyd but he’s done very well indeed. Nick decided that instead of converting it into long-term rented apartments he handed it over to Sonder and in doing that he takes some responsibility for some of the stuff that happens.

Nick Mason has not publicly commented on the affair but will be releasing a new live album this April.
